Mile 2 Ministries was created based on three particular scriptures specifically targeting the work of Christians in the mission field.  Our name comes from Matthew 5:41, which reads, "If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles."  

We believe that true Christian mission work does not begin until the second mile; going one mile is doing what is expected, but we strive to go farther and do what others stop short of doing.  That being said, we respond to the call to missions with Isaiah 6:8, "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”  And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”" 

There are many works to be done as missionaries.  Ephesians 4:11-12 says that "Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,  to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."  

At any given time and on any given mission trip, we believe that we serve as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers (see our mission tabs for more information on our ministries).
